1953 Cadillac Series 62 Eldorado
In the 50s and 60s the selection was smaller than it is right now, and this was certainly a good thing for the Detroit Big Three. Volkswagen The Thing: If you were around and aware of motor vehicles during the 1970s you may have found yourself perplexed when you saw a strange new animal on the roadways. Here was this vehicle that looked kind of like a small Jeep, with a convertible top and kind of a corrugated body.
You couldn’t help but notice its, well, let’s say “homeliness,” but the Pumpkin Orange or Sunshine Yellow color was certainly hard to miss.
This vehicle that we are referring to is the Volkswagen Thing, but it was only called the Thing in North America. The car was known as Trekker in the United Kingdom and Safari in Mexico, and its generic designation was Volkswagen 181.

A Look at the Ford Model T
Henry Ford has gone down in history as one of the most influential industrialists the United States has ever known. Ford was born on July 30 of 1863 on a farm that was located right outside of Detroit, Michigan. Of course, Detroit went on to become the cradle of American auto making, and Henry Ford had a lot to do with that.
Among other things Ford is credited with taking the step that brought automobile ownership within reach of ordinary Americans. The first vehicle that he was able to offer to the auto buying public at an affordable price was the Ford Model T, which first came out in 1908.
